Maria Chiara Pettenati

Maria Chiara Pettenati is Research Director at the National Institute of Documentation, Innovation and Educational Research (INDIRE), a public research body supervised by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR). She deals with models and quality criteria for training incoming and in-service teachers in the context of national plans entrusted by the Directorate General for School Staff of the MIUR in INDIRE. Since 2014 she is the environmental referent for the documentation of the training and test year for newly hired teachers and from 2018 she coordinates the Monitoring activity of the 2016/19 National Teacher Training Plan. She represents INDIRE in the Working Groups of the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development (ASviS) on Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Target 4.7 (Education for Sustainable Development). She has been and is a trainer in numerous courses for teachers on issues related to sustainable development and global citizenship at the regional and national levels.
