Rusudan Makhachashvili

Professor Rusudan Makhachashvili is a leading academic and expert in philology and digital education, serving as the Head of the Germanic Philology Department at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University, Ukraine. She is a recognized evaluator for individual grant projects under the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe frameworks, as well as the head of the observer institution group for the Horizon 2020 ELEXIS project. Additionally, she has contributed as an expert staff member for the European Commission’s 7th Framework Project IRNet, focusing on ICT, e-learning, and intercultural competencies. Her expertise extends to leadership development in higher education through her involvement with international research initiatives, including the International Study of Leadership Development in Higher Education (Calgary, Canada). As an advisor, she has guided Ukrainian universities in developing master’s curricula in e-government under a program by the Estonian Foreign Ministry and Tallinn University of Technology.

Beyond her research and advisory roles, Professor Makhachashvili has had a significant impact on academic governance and scholarly publishing. She has served as Vice-Dean for Research and later led the Young Researchers Council, shaping policies on interdisciplinary research and academic best practices. She is the Editor-in-Chief of Synopsis: Text. Context. Media and a member of editorial boards for multiple international journals, including the International Journal of Research in E-learning and the International Journal of Linguistics, Literature, and Culture. Her contributions to digital education policy include serving as an expert for the Ministry of Education of Ukraine in e-learning platform development. Through her extensive leadership roles in academia, research evaluation, and digital education policy, she continues to shape the future of linguistic studies and digital humanities on both national and international levels.
